Continued SHG Work

[Briana, Ian, Torrey]

Mounted two 50 mm lenses, dichroic beamsplitter, and beam dumps. Shifted initial optics so that the beamsplitter mount does not hang off the board. Schematic was updated to account for correct beamsplitter transmission direction and spacing. To ensure minimal reflection back through the Faraday isolator, alignment was done using power meter. First, you rotate around the yaw axis to maximize power read by powermeter, then rotate about the roll axis to maximize again. I forgot to do the third step of the smaller cylindrical rotation about the roll axis to minimize transmission power in the backwards direction, but this should be done in the future. Overall, we do not lose too much power from the point right after the laser to the point after the isolator (28 mW to 27 mW). Optics up until the fourth 1550 nm mirror are aligned (3/4 beam dumps have been placed- the fourth one needs to be mounted shorter. Beamsplitter will be aligned tomorrow according to the new schematic.
